Refund
Policy
If
you drop a course before the start date, you will receive a refund
for the full price (100%) of the course. If you drop a course within
the first seven days of the course (counting the first day of the
course as day one), you will receive a refund of 80% of the price
of the course. No
refunds will be granted for withdrawals after the seventh (7th)
day of the course.
How
to Drop/Withdraw From a Course
You
can remove (drop or withdraw) yourself from an active course at
any time.
to PBS TeacherLine.
- Click
the "My Courses" link on the top menu bar of the web
site.
- Locate
the course from which you want to remove (drop or withdraw)
yourself.
(If the course is not already displaying for you, try clicking
the "Current Courses" link to the left side or the
'Manage Courses" link in the center.)
- Click
on the 'Drop' or 'Withdraw' button under the course.
From
the time you enroll in the course and up to the end of the
seventh day of the course (counting the first day of the course
as day one), you can drop a course. The button will say 'Drop'.
If you drop a course, your course access will be removed and
you will receive a full or partial refund. See the refund
policy above for specific refund amounts.
After
the seventh day of the course, you can only withdraw from
a course. The button will say 'Withdraw'. Withdrawing from
a course will end course access. No refunds are granted for
withdrawals.
Promo
Code Policy
If
you use a Promo Code to enroll for a course, be aware that you may
be responsible for payment of the course fees if you fail to complete
the course successfully or if you drop or withdraw from the course.
Check with your district or promo code provider for their policy
on this matter.
Course
Cancellations
PBS
TeacherLine requires a minimum of 15 participants per national course
and will allow a maximum of 25 participants. If the minimum enrollment
for a course is not met, the course will be cancelled at the end
of the third week of the enrollment period or one week prior to
course start date. PBS TeacherLine may make exceptions for minimum
enrollment requirements, if necessary.
Locally
offered courses may have different class size requirements.
If
a course has been cancelled, you will receive a notification e-mail
with instructions on how to receive a refund. You can then enroll
in a different course, and/or request to be notified when that course
is next offered.
E-mail
Confirmations
You
will receive a system-generated confirmation e-mail for the following
reasons:
- You
join PBS TeacherLine
- You
enroll in a course
- You
drop a course
- PBS
TeacherLine receives your refund request
- PBS
TeacherLine processes your refund request
- PBS
TeacherLine cancels or closes your course
If you do not receive these e-mails, please check to be sure that
it was not directed to your spam or junk e-mail folder. Log in
and check the "Edit My Profile" page to confirm that
you are using the same e-mail address that you used when you joined
PBS TeacherLine.
Orientation
Period
PBS
TeacherLine courses will be available to learners two days before
a course is scheduled to begin. During this "orientation period,"
enrolled learners may access their course to familiarize themselves
with the course structure and environment. Course facilitators will
use this time to ensure that each learners e-mail is functioning
correctly. The discussion board, however, will not be available
until the first day of the course.
This
orientation is optional; learners are not required to access their
course before the course start date however we strongly encourage
learners to take advantage of this time.
Participation
and Attendance Policies
Before
your course
In order to access your courses, you must first log into the PBS
TeacherLine Web site with your enrolled email and password.
Once you log in, you will see your course(s) listed on the "My
Courses page, which is accessible via the top horizontal
navigation bar thoughout the site. Two days before the course
start date, your course link(s) will become active, upon which
you can click the hyperlinked course title to access your course.
Please use this two-day window to explore and become familiar
with your course. You will not be able to begin your actual assignments
until the course start date.
Your
facilitator will send you a welcome e-mail on or before the first
day of the course. You do not need this e-mail to access and begin
your course. You will want to make sure that you have a primary
e-mail address in your profile which is one that you can access
while taking your course, which you can confirm by clicking the
"edit my profile" link after you login to PBS TeacherLine.
You
will also want to keep an eye on any e-mails that might be flagged
as "spam" which might be an attempted correspondence
from your facilitator, and un-mark it as "spam" so that
you do not miss any important e-mails. If you do not receive an
e-mail from your facilitator, you can work with the facilitator
to resolve the problem once you are active in the course.
During
your course
In order to receive a completion certificate and/or graduate credit,
you must properly and consistently participate in the course.
After
the course start date, you have seven days to log in and begin
participating in the discussion board. You
must not be absent from the course for more than six consecutive
days. We consider an absent learner to be one who does not log
into the course, does not turn in assignments on time, does not
contribute to the discussion board, and does not respond to the
facilitator via e-mail.
If
you do not begin to participate within the first seven days, or
if you are absent for more than six consecutive days, you will
no longer be eligible to receive a completion certificate or graduate
credit, nor will your facilitator evaluate your assignments. In
this case, you may still remain in the course and have access
to the course readings, materials, and discussions. No refunds
are granted after the seventh day of the course.
After
your course
You
will have access to your course information for 1 month after
you finish your course. We recommend that you copy and save your
relevant course files during this timeframe. After the 30-day
time period is over, you will no longer be able to access any
content from that course.
